Pro.Ediriweera Sarachchandra was born on the june 3 ,1914.He is a Sri Lankan playwright,novelist, poet,literary, critic and critic.He has been a senior Lecturer at the University of Peradeniya. His first drama is maname.His great drama is sinha bahu.his other plays include Kadha walalu,Vellavevum, Wessanthara.Many of his plays are based on buddhist jataka stories or sinhala folklore.
